FCRG

USF Foster Care Research Group RA

The Foster Care Research Group (FCRG) is focused on evaluating prevention and intervention programs designed to better the lives of current and former foster children and youth. FCRG is led by Saralyn Ruff, Ph.D., faculty in Psychology at USF, in partnership with Mitch Findley, Research Project Coordinator.

Research Assistant Duties, Hours, and Compensation

The FCRG Research Assistant (RA) is responsible for assisting with administrative and clerical tasks, preparing literature reviews, collecting data via semi-structured telephone interviews with participants receiving mental health services, entering data, conducting data analyses, and preparing results for presentation and/or publication. Duties increase in complexity and responsibility as the RA is oriented and trained. The RA attends research team meetings at which the process and progress of the research is monitored, as well as other meetings, as needed. Additionally, the RA may be expected to complete assigned readings related to the work they are doing for the project(s). Hours may vary considerably according to project phases; however, each RA is expected to work at least 5 hours per week in the FCRG lab.
