UCSF Neuroscape Research Assistant

I wanted to share a volunteer opportunity at the Neuroscape Center at UCSF for psychology students looking to gain research experience. The study is under Dr. Peter Wais and the focus is to examine how targeted video game interventions can improve memory and cognition in older adults. I've attached a flyer with more information to distribute to your students. We're looking for highly motivated students who are interested in working directly with older adult participants.

The Neuroscape Center at UCSF (https://neuroscape.ucsf.edu/) is seeking undergraduate volunteers to assist with a technology-based cognitive intervention study. The aim of the study is to examine how video games can improve memory and cognition in older adults. This research is conducted under the Principle Investigator, Dr. Peter Wais.

Responsibilities:

- Administer cognitive tasks and assessments
- Process and analyze behavioral data
- Assist the research team with study preparation

​

Qualifications:

- Demonstrated interest in psychology/neuroscience
- Motivated, punctual, organized
- Comfortable interacting with older adults
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to come to UCSF Mission Bay 2x a week
- Commit to 10 hrs/week for one year

​

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior research experience
- Proficient in R, Python, or SPSS

​
