USF RA

Metacognition and Learning Lab

We are seeking new Research Assistants (RAs) to start immediately. Our research centers on metacognition—awareness and understanding of one’s own thought processes—and how this affects learning. Our past projects have focused on aspects of metacognition such as surprise, confidence, and cognitive difficulty, and we have specifically considered whether people remember information better when it is surprising, how people plan study time, and how people think about alternative research hypotheses. Other areas we are considering investigating include the role of language in metacognition
and learning and how people understand thought processes involving AI.
